Florida Nurses Foundation Grants

In addition to the scholarships, Florida Nurses Foundation also offers several nursing grants for various levels of research and education.  Below is a list of some of the grants:

Research Grants

  • Evelyn Frank McKnight Open to all qualified applicants;
  • Frieda Norton- District 5 Charitable Trust Open to all qualified applicants;
  • Undine Sams and Friends Research Grant Fund(District 5 Charitable Trust) Preference given to nurse researcher from South Florida;
  • Blanche Case Research Fund (District 5 Charitable Trust)Preference given to nurse researcher from South Florida;
  • Edna Hicks Research Fund- (District 5 Charitable Trust)Preference given to nurse researcher from South Florida; and
  • District 20 The Evelyn Baxter Memorial Fund Manatee County; 60% to scholarship for ADN, BSN, MSN, PhD/DNS ARNP students; 40% to research grants in graduate program.
  • Imogene King Research Fund- Open to graduate students from all over the state.

Nurses in Need Fund

Nurses in Need was established by the nurses of FNA to be able to give small grants to help nurses in immediate need of help. The foundation helps nurses with issues such as rent, or even a license renewal. Nurses must be able to document the need and the grants are usually available in 24-72 hours depending on completion of the application.

  • Maureen Finney (District 5 Charitable Trust) - Nurses in Need Fund
  • Katherine Gutwald/Lillian Smith (District 9 Fund)
